Diana's Dreams as told to her dream analyst Joan Hanger

Psychologists acknowledge that our dreams indicate what is going on in the deeper parts of our minds. And that was as true for the Princess of Wales as it is for anyone else. But even internationally-respected dream analyst Joan Hanger was taken aback when she was invited to Kensington Palace to talk with Diana about her dreams.

The two immediately became close and the meeting was the first of many in which Diana entrusted Joan with the interpretation of dreams that puzzled and sometimes troubled her.

Like many of us, during her more restless hours of sleep, Diana, trying to come to terms with the uncontrollable events engulfing her, had many extraordinary dreams. Joan provided a frank and honest interpretation. Now Joan relates those dreams, the elements of many of which we may all experience ourselves and she explains how we can understand our own dreams. Like Diana, we can take comfort from what our dreams tell us about ourselves.

Diana’s Dreams provides an unique perspective on one of the world’s enduringly fascinating women and also an informed guide to the meanings behind the perplexing everyday dreams we all have. It’s a personal account of a close and honest friendship between two women, one a straighttalking Australian and other the legendary Princess she had always admired on the other side of the world.

The Little Book of Dreams

Dreams - those magical landscapes and strange adventures that our minds create every time we sleep. They confuse us, they fascinate us, they enrich us.

This little book is for those who want to understand their dreams and for those who simply love to dream...

Your Children's Dreams

Are children's dreams the same as adults' dreams? What are common children's dreams and what do they mean? What should you do if your child experiences nightmares or night terrors?

Children are born dreaming, yet the what, how and why of children's dreams remain little understood. Your Children's Dreams explores the way in which children dream as well as what their dreams may mean.

Joan Hanger, an authority throughout Australasia on dream analysis, discusses various aspects of children's dreaming, including children's stages of emotional growth, health, gender and the media. She also provides practical advice for helping you to understand - and encourage - your child's complex unconscious journeyings.

Wake Up To Your Dreams

Are you haunted by a recurring dream that you just cannot make sense of?

Have you ever dreamt you were being pursued by a terrifying figure but were unable to run?

Joan Hanger explains why you dream and shows you how to interpret the often puzzling language of dreams. Convinced that you ignore your dreams at your own peril, she explores all manner of dream themes, including premonition dreams, erotic dreams, recurring dreams and nightmares.

You will find your own dreams in the pages of this book, and you will learn to access those that remain hidden from your memory. Remember that you create your dreams, and deep down you know what they mean because your mind has formed them. Ultimately, this means that the best person to analyse your dreams is you!

In Your Dreams

Joan Hanger was inspired to write her first book on dreams as a result of the many letters she receives through her weekly column in Woman's Day. 'I am constantly impressed by the power that dreams have to influence people's lives,' she says. 'The messages that dreams carry can enrich and direct our experience of the world and act as powerful indicators for positive change.'

This book summarises and interprets some of the main themes and images of our dreams. Why do we dream of houses? What do dreams of snakes or of falling mean? What is the significance of water? These, and a myriad other typical sequences, are discussed through real dreams contributed by her many readers.
